Dear friend,

After a very busy week - including a fake New York Post with real news (for a change), the launch of a nationwide civil disobedience program, some prime-time news, and even a night in jail - we are very happy to be opening our new film in New York City next week (October 7). But we need your help spreading the word.

Our film's all about TAKING ACTION. We're even accompanying the film's rollout with a very pesky program that's all about saying: we all know what's wrong, now let's DO something about it.

But it all starts in New York. If it does well here, theaters throughout the US will want it too. If it doesn't, they won't.

To help make it happen:

  • Please EMAIL, TWITTER, and MESSAGE all your friends in New York and tell them to go to Film Forum next week! You can use the HTML flier below, or this link: http://theyesmenfixtheworld.com/eflier. Twitter it, post it on your Facebook wall, message it around and email it. Call your friends and let them know!

  • If you're in New York or have friends who are, come wear the world's stupidest costume (http://survivaball.com/) and hand out coupons for a free fake New York Times with each ticket. We really need people to do this, because a lot of people don't know our film is showing (not much money for advertising). To volunteer, please write wearaball@theyesmen.org. We need you starting today!

We (the Yes Men) will be at almost every screening the first week (Oct. 7-13) - and at many the second week too. We hope to see you there! On the opening weekend we may even invite you to join us for an action-oriented field trip immediately after the show (sorry, details must remain secret).

Book tix for the opening weekend if you're feeling adventurous - and to help the film to the max (first weekend counts most).

Special offer for you and your NY pals: If you or your friends say the password "Survivaball" and wink at the box office attendant while picking up your ticket, he or she will give you a free copy of the fake NY times from last November... which according to eBAY is still worth $35.00! If you say it twice, you'll get two.

Again, New Yorkers can buy tickets now. Some opening-week screenings are already sold out! We want all of them to sell out, so theaters across America find the film irresistible. http://boxoffice.printtixusa.com/filmforum/advance?v=2454&i=8530

As for the rest of the USA and some other countries too: please watch this space: http://theyesmenfixtheworld.com/screenings.htm. If your signup profile is up-to-date, you'll get notice from us when it comes!

Onwards!
The Yes Men
